M. Susan Van Bergen has provided banking, credit and investment relationship services to clients for over 30 years. She joined Steinberg Global in August 2014 and is the Director of Client Relations and Marketing. Susan maintains ongoing and close personal contact with the Firm’s clients throughout the year, and works with our portfolio management team to communicate and further enhance our personal strategy for each client. Additionally, Susan represents the Firm in our business and charitable communities.
Susan started her financial career at Morgan Guaranty Trust in New York City and was one of the early female graduates of the Chase Manhattan Bank credit officer program. Afterwards, she spent many years with Algemene Bank Nederland, (ABN) in New York City, lending to clients in the diamond and gold industry. She then joined the Citibank Private Bank in New York and Palm Beach, aiding clients with their investment and credit strategies. Susan next worked at Banker’s Trust Company, (BT) in Palm Beach to establish and build a presence for BT in Florida. After BT and taking a few years off to raise her family, Susan joined Wachovia Wealth Management in Boca Raton as a Vice-President in the Private Client Group, where she was a relationship manager and successful new business developer. Prior to joining SGAM, she spent ten years as the Managing Director of Client Relations for Levitt Capital Management in Boca Raton.
Susan graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance from Notre Dame of Maryland University in Baltimore, and holds a series 65 license.
Susan is a member of the Boca Museum Professional Advisory Committee and volunteers weekly at Tri-County Animal Rescue.
Susan resides in Boca Raton, has two grown children and enjoys traveling, reading, gardening and needlepoint.
